    As the COVID-19 virus and its impacts continue to evolve and develop, Country Boys Auction & Realty, Inc. will remain focused on providing the same professional commitment to our customers that we have for over 40 years while striving to maintain the safety of our customers, our staff, and our community. We are here to support all of our customers, both buyers and sellers, while continuing to follow all of the latest government and health official guidelines, regulations, and recommendations. We will continue to monitor this situation and adjust our policies and auction scheduling accordingly.

    We are reviewing each of our already scheduled auctions individually as to the ability to conduct the auction as scheduled or to postpone until a later date. Our decisions are based on the health and well-being of all auction attendees with consideration given to the specific auction environments, the estimated number of auction participants, the ability for auction patrons to use proper distancing and practice good health habits, and our ability to conduct an auction within the most current recommendations, guidelines and regulations. We will update our website (www.countryboysauction.com) daily with any necessary scheduling updates or changes, and we encourage you to check the status of our auctions regularly.

    We only have one large attendance auction on our calendar and it has been tentatively rescheduled for May 21, 2020, and we are not scheduling any additional large format “live” auctions at this time. We may schedule some large upcoming auctions as “online only auctions” giving our buyers the ability to bid remotely from an environment of their choice. Once this threat passes, we will start scheduling large format auctions again.

    We currently have several real estate auctions scheduled which we feel that we can conduct while still providing our attendees safety and comfort. These auctions typically have less than 25 attendees and are scheduled to be held outside in open areas where our patrons can safely and comfortably attend the auction. If you are interested in one or more of these properties and prefer not to attend in person, please contact us directly to discuss an absentee bidding option. If you have any other questions or considerations, we encourage you to contact us directly so that we can find a suitable resolution.

    If you choose to attend one of our upcoming auctions in person, we ask that you abide by the current recommendations for health and safety listed below.

    TERMS – This sale is being conducted in the Matter and/or the Estate of Helen Taylor. The property is being sold “FREE AND CLEAR” of all liens, or with liens satisfied at closing. The property is being sold “AS IS, WHERE IS”. The property is being sold with taxes prorated as of day of closing, meaning the current year taxes will be split between the Buyer and the Seller based on the closing date; all prior years taxes will be paid by the Seller. A 5% deposit or $750.00 deposit, WHICHEVER IS GREATER, is required at time of sale. The sale is subject to all North Carolina Estate General Statutes including a “(10) DAY UPSET BID PERIOD”, meaning that the last and final bid at the auction is recorded with the Clerk of Court for the county that the property is located in and held open. Anyone can contact the Clerk’s office and raise the bid during the raise period. All raises made after the close of the auction must be of at least 5% of previous recorded bid and must be made through the Clerk’s office. Each time the bid is raised, the (10) day “upset bid period” starts over. This process continues until there have been no raises. At that time, the file is sent to the Clerk for the confirmation process. Once confirmed, the high bidder will have (30) days to close on the property.
